Pringle Bay Tree Planting Project

The Pringle Bay Ratepayers Association (PBRA) is initiating a tree planting project to introduce indigenous trees to public spaces within Pringle Bay. This initiative aims to enhance the natural environment and promote sustainability.

Project Details

Goal: To plant selected indigenous trees in public areas.

Phase 1 Overview

Number of Trees: 50
Timing: April – May 2025
Locations:
- CBD area: 30 trees
- Community Hall & village entrance area: 20 trees
Tree Species for Phase 1:
- White Milkwood
- Cape Ash
- Forest Elder
- Coral Tree
- Rooiels
- Water Pear

Get Involved

To participate, you can join the Trees volunteer group, which will handle the organisation and planting activities. Contact Carel Laubscher, the project coordinator, to join.

How to Contribute

Donations of R200 per tree are welcome and can be made in the following ways:

Personalised Tree: Have your name included on the botanical name tag displayed on the tree.
Memorial Tree: Donate a tree in memory of a loved one, with their name on the botanical name tag.
General Donation: Contribute towards tree/s without any names added to the botanical name tag.

The R200 donation covers the cost of the tree, compost, fertiliser, treated pole stakes, and a botanical nameplate, as well as all labour.

Use the reference: TREES.
If you would like to donate a Personalised or Memorial tree, we need you to provide the exact text for the botanical name tag to the project as well as the proof of payment to treeproject@pringlebayratepayers.co.za.

The tree name tags will follow a fixed format for all donation options.
