As development continues within Pringle Bay Village, fewer and fewer areas of Fynbos are left. However, the wide road reserve along Hangklip Road offers a potential opportunity to create an enhanced Fynbos experience right within our Village. This is also in line with the PBSDF objectives of working toward making Pringle Bay a remarkable Kogelberg Village and a desirable Tourist destination.
As part of the PBRA programme to provide greater awareness and access to this important resource, a simple pathway was created through the space. This new path brings one closer to the intricate beauty of the Fynbos and the creatures that live there.
To mark the first Phase of this pathway, which will ultimately allow one to walk from the community Hall to the CBD, a progress celebration was held on Saturday, the 16th, attended by a number of Villagers. The PBRA chairman, Gert Bam, cut the ribbon to formally open the walk, and thereafter, the PBRA entertained guests to refreshments in the Hall.
Already there have been reports from residents expressing their surprise and awe at how beautiful this walking experience actually is.
The work was done by an enthusiastic group of volunteers under the leadership of Carel Laubscher, who have forged this path and are now in Phase 2 – extending the path from Rita to William Road.
