The Fynbos that surrounds us is not only beautiful, but also attracts many visitors to our Village. The PBRA is partnering with CapeNature to make people aware of the potential damage that we can so easily inflict on the new growth. Already, just 3 weeks after the fire, we can see plants breaking the surface – helped by the recent rains. It is important for us all, as residents of Pringle Bay Village, to collectively protect the Fynbos from damage – particularly now.
The PBRA has worked closely with CapeNature (CN) and we are pleased to advise that CN is now allowing parts of some trails on the edge of the reserve to be used. The caveat is that if this concession is abused, the reserve will be closed completely.
The PBRA has also committed to support CapeNature by erecting information signs on the trails giving on-site information on the trail status.
Pass road entrance and entrance from other end of the trail
A section of Brodie Link walk (closest to the Village edge) – the part marked in GREEN is open for use. It is critical to keep to the existing path. Pets are not allowed.
Pass Road entrance and onto Hangklip Road – the parts marked in GREEN are open for use. It is still important to keep to the existing path. Pets are not allowed.
The trails marked in RED remain closed until further notice. We anticipate that this closure will not be lifted before August 2024.
