In response to recent social media criticism of both the Pringle Bay Ratepayers’ Association (PBRA) and the Pringle Bay Street Watch (PBSW) following a rise in local crime, please take the time to read this article:
Ever wondered why some homes are burgled while others are ignored?
We wish we could give you a definitive answer to the question, but here are some useful suggestions to make you more secure in your own home, in no particular order:
The PBSW is a formal, non-profit organisation that focusses on crime prevention to support law enforcement agencies and security companies, with the goal of creating a safe and secure environment for everybody in our community. Membership is free and open to property owners and legal tenants. Here’s how you can make a positive contribution:
To find out more visit www.pbsw.co.za
Of the nineteen verified crime incidents this year 69% of the residents were not members of PBSW at the time of the incident. If you are already a member, please encourage your neighbours to join PBSW so we can stand together and all be part of the community, working collectively towards combating crime in the village.
The PBRA and PBSW always appreciate interaction with the community and we welcome helpful ideas to improve the security in Pringle Bay. If you think you can make a positive suggestion/contribution to our community being a safer environment, please contact Heather Morkel (secretary@pringlebayratepayers.co.za.). Both the PBRA and PBSW look forward to all input and engagement.
